DC Sports

DC Sports Headers, Exhaust, Turbo Manifolds, Air Filters and Strut Bars

DC Sports was founded by Darrell and Darrick Contreras as a high-quality designer and manufacturer of performance products to address the developing Sport Compact Market. In 1987, American Honda commissioned DC Sports to develop a header for their SCCA prepped CRX's and the result cumulated was our first 4 into 1 header design. It was so well received that Honda requested headers for other applications. That system is the one that started it all (HHC5002). The Sport Compact Market was primarily based on popular Japanese small cars that were great cars to begin with, but also excellent platforms for various tuning modifications. Throughout the 1990s, DC Sports was synonymous with Honda and Acura performance and in the early 2000's started expanding into other sport compact platforms. DC Sports developed unique designs that performed better and therefore became the brand of choice for serious enthusiasts.

In 2004, DC Sports was purchased by Advanced Engine Management (AEM), a leading manufacturer of performance parts specializing in air induction and electronics for the Sport Compact and Truck/SUV Markets. AEM continued the strong DC Sports tradition of producing the best exhaust products and developed an even stronger connection to motorsports for the brand. Pilot Automotive entered the picture in 2007 when it purchased the aftermarket assets and intellectual property of DC Sports from AEM. Pilot is one of the largest accessory and performance product suppliers to the automotive and truck markets. Pilot owns a number of well-known brands such as Pilot, Red Line, APC, Bully, and VPS (Vehicle Performance Systems). DC Sports offers the highest quality ceramic headers, stainless headers, o2 extensions, stainless steel exhaust, mufflers, exhaust tips, mid-pipe, y-pipe, strut tower bars, lower tie bars, under bracing, magnetic drain plugs, oil caps, shift knobs and license plate relocation kits.

Today, DC Sports offers products for most popular sport compact vehicles. DC Sports headers and air intakes are available as CARB approved-50 states legal or race only- off road use versions. Headers are manufactured with polished T304SS stainless and/or T409SS ceramic coated for protection and finish. Intake kits come with a high flow open element filter complete with all necessary hardware for a hassle-free installation. Braces are manufactured with mild steel for strength and powder-coated for a quality durable finish and solid one-piece designs are used whenever possible to provide the maximum chassis rigidity. All parts are engineered, dyno tested for performance (where applicable), and come with an industry standard one year warranty. DC Sports has always been first and foremost about performance and value but there is also no other product that has the DC Sports look, feel, and quality. Accesspeed is proud to offer DC Sports products to our customers. With our lowest price match guarantee, you will always find the best combination of price and selection at Accesspeed.

CoilOver Suspension

What is a coilover?

Coilovers are suspension components that incorporate springs and shocks/struts into one product. The actual name coilover is an abbreviation of "coil-over shock absorber”. Most coilover suspension kits are height adjustable, allowing you to lower and raise your ride height.

Are coilovers better than springs?

Coilovers are a great alternative to a lowering spring set up because they allow you to adjust your ride height while they are on your vehicle, without sacrificing ride quality as you adjust. Unlike springs, you are not stuck to one ride height and suspension rate. Most race vehicles incorporate a coilover suspension system for maximum performance and adjustability.

Which is better coilovers or shocks?

Coilovers offer the best combination of performance, ride quality and adjustability. Most manufacturers offer a variety of spring rate options to allow you to find your sweet spot for daily driving and performance needs.

Are coilovers good for daily driving?

Yes, if you purchase a good quality coilover suspension system from Accesspeed. A good quality system will ride nice, assuming you do not have the settings dropped too far.
