DC Sports

DC Sports Headers, Exhaust, Turbo Manifolds, Air Filters and Strut Bars

DC Sports was founded by Darrell and Darrick Contreras as a high-quality designer and manufacturer of performance products to address the developing Sport Compact Market. In 1987, American Honda commissioned DC Sports to develop a header for their SCCA prepped CRX's and the result cumulated was our first 4 into 1 header design. It was so well received that Honda requested headers for other applications. That system is the one that started it all (HHC5002). The Sport Compact Market was primarily based on popular Japanese small cars that were great cars to begin with, but also excellent platforms for various tuning modifications. Throughout the 1990s, DC Sports was synonymous with Honda and Acura performance and in the early 2000's started expanding into other sport compact platforms. DC Sports developed unique designs that performed better and therefore became the brand of choice for serious enthusiasts.

In 2004, DC Sports was purchased by Advanced Engine Management (AEM), a leading manufacturer of performance parts specializing in air induction and electronics for the Sport Compact and Truck/SUV Markets. AEM continued the strong DC Sports tradition of producing the best exhaust products and developed an even stronger connection to motorsports for the brand. Pilot Automotive entered the picture in 2007 when it purchased the aftermarket assets and intellectual property of DC Sports from AEM. Pilot is one of the largest accessory and performance product suppliers to the automotive and truck markets. Pilot owns a number of well-known brands such as Pilot, Red Line, APC, Bully, and VPS (Vehicle Performance Systems). DC Sports offers the highest quality ceramic headers, stainless headers, o2 extensions, stainless steel exhaust, mufflers, exhaust tips, mid-pipe, y-pipe, strut tower bars, lower tie bars, under bracing, magnetic drain plugs, oil caps, shift knobs and license plate relocation kits.

Today, DC Sports offers products for most popular sport compact vehicles. DC Sports headers and air intakes are available as CARB approved-50 states legal or race only- off road use versions. Headers are manufactured with polished T304SS stainless and/or T409SS ceramic coated for protection and finish. Intake kits come with a high flow open element filter complete with all necessary hardware for a hassle-free installation. Braces are manufactured with mild steel for strength and powder-coated for a quality durable finish and solid one-piece designs are used whenever possible to provide the maximum chassis rigidity. All parts are engineered, dyno tested for performance (where applicable), and come with an industry standard one year warranty. DC Sports has always been first and foremost about performance and value but there is also no other product that has the DC Sports look, feel, and quality. Suspension & Chassis » Anti-Sway Bars and End Links

Anti-Sway Bars, Anti-Roll Bars, Stabilizer Bars and End Links

What is the purpose of a sway bar?

Sway bars, also called anti-sway bars, stabilizer bars or anti-roll bars, are used to keep your vehicle from rolling over. It is most often a U-shaped or C-shaped bar that is connected to each of the vehicle's front wheels via end links.

Do aftermarket sway bars help?

Yes. A properly designed sway bar reduces body roll for a dramatic improvement in handling. While the primary function of a sway bar is to reduce body roll in cornering, overall handling and stability improvements are evident.  With adjustable sway bars and/or sway bar end links, you can fine-tune the amount of oversteer and understeer.

Do sway bars affect ride quality?

No. Sway bars control body roll and cornering stability. Unlike changing spring rates to reduce body roll and improve handling, sway bars have no effect on ride quality or comfort.

Do you need alignment after replacing sway bars or end links?

No. Sway bar and end link installation do not affect alignment. If you lower or lift your vehicle, or if you replace the tie rods, control arms, steering rack, or subframe, you will need an alignment.

What do adjustable sway bar end links do?

Adjustable sway bar end links allow you to set the sway bar in the center of the control arms, ensuring there is no contact or binding under heavy loading and unloading. Adjustable end links give you the ability to adjust the amount of performance and handling improvement your sway bars provide.
