Shift Lights, Shift Indicators and Warning Lights
What is a shift light and what does it do?
A shift indicator light (also called shift light, shift indicator and shift warning light) is a warning lamp fitted to vehicles to indicate to the driver that RPM for optimal or maximum shift point has been reached. A shift light is visible with peripheral vision, which allows the driver to shift gears at the correct moment without looking at the tachometer.
