What do aftermarket motor mounts do?

Engine mounts or motor mounts are basically rubber or polyurethane shock absorbing cushions that keep the engine in place while reducing the transfer of vibration and movement from the engine to the frame and driveline. Factory mounts typically use rubber, whereas aftermarket mounts use stiffer, high-performance polyurethane, which improves engine response due to transferring the energy from the engine to the driveline much more efficiently, while still offering damping.
