Battery Chargers and Jumpers

Battery Chargers, Jumper Boxes and Jumper Cables

What is the difference between a battery charger and a battery jumper box?  Vehicle battery chargers normally plug into a 110-120 volt AC power outlet in order to charge or recharge your battery. This process can take hours or even days, depending on your battery level and the charger output. A portable jumper box (also called jump starter, booster box, battery booster, emergency booster and battery jumpers) can be used anywhere to “jump” your battery and start your vehicle.

What does a battery tender or battery maintainer do?  A battery tenders (battery maintainer) is designed to maintain a charge without overcharging. The battery tender will automatically shut off when the battery is fully charged, and turn on again when the battery gets low.
