K&N High Performance Air Filters, Air Intakes, Oil Filters, Exhaust and Tuning

For over 50 years, K&N® has been an industry-leader in automotive filtration and technology—offering products to increase performance, protection, and longevity in thousands of vehicle applications for consumers worldwide. All K&N products undergo rigorous testing to ensure that they adhere to demanding quality standards. K&N stands behind their products with some of the most extensive warranties in the aftermarket.

Horsepower and torque claims are based on testing of an actual vehicle on a dynamometer before and after a K&N product has been installed. Horsepower/torque testing is performed on Dyno Jet 248 and SuperFlow 880E dynamometers, which measure actual brake horsepower and torque at the wheel(s) receiving power from the drive train.

K&N performs all airflow testing on a SuperFlow SF-1020 flow bench. The SF-1020 is a computerized flow bench capable of measuring airflow rates up to 1020 cubic feet per minute (cfm) at test pressures of up to 65 inches of water.

In addition to their world famous air filters, K&N manufactures air intake systems, air cleaners, oil filters, cabin filters, exhaust systems and tuning products. Accesspeed is proud to offer K&N products to our customers. With our low price match guarantee, you will always find the best combination of price and selection at Accesspeed.

Do aftermarket high performance air filters add horsepower and torque compared to stock?

Yes, aftermarket performance air filters can increase your horsepower and torque. If you are upgrading from a brand-new OEM factory filter, you may notice a slight difference, but the true results are typically discovered on the dyno or the racetrack. At the same time, your engine will enjoy increased fuel efficiency, but only if you can keep your throttle foot away from the floor board.

High Performance Air Filters and Replacement Air Filters

Do aftermarket high performance air filters add horsepower and torque compared to stock?

Yes, aftermarket performance air filters can increase your horsepower and torque. If you are upgrading from a brand-new OEM factory filter, you may notice a slight difference, but the true results are typically discovered on the dyno or the racetrack. At the same time, your engine will enjoy increased fuel efficiency, but only if you can keep your throttle foot away from the floor board.

How Often Should You Change the Engine Air Filter?

The best answer is to follow the owner’s manual suggestion for your vehicle and engine. However, if you drive in more adverse conditions, such as dirt and salty roads, Accesspeed suggests inspecting and (when needed) changing your air filter more frequently. Make sure you document the mileage each time you replace your air filter.

What are the common signs and symptoms of a bad air filter?

  • Check Engine Light comes on.
  • Noticeable reduction in fuel economy.
  • Noticeable reduced in performance.
  • Air filter appears very dirty upon inspection.
  • Engine misfires or sputters.
  • Unusual engine sounds.
  • Smell of gasoline when starting the car.
  • Black sooty smoke or flames exiting the exhaust.

Does changing the air filter make a difference?

Replacing a dirty air filter can increase fuel efficiency and improve performance. A dirty, clogged, or damaged air filter limits the amount of air flowing into your engine. This limitation forces your engine to work harder, reducing performance and fuel efficiency.

Do aftermarket air filters improve performance?

Yes, aftermarket performance air filters can improve performance, as proven by dyno and track results thousands of shops and racers.
