Whether you just need a small receiver hitch to mount a bike rack to the rear of your car, or you need a gooseneck hitch to tow your large race trailer, we can help find you the best quality products for your specfic needs.

What are the different types of trailer hitches available?

While there are many types of hitches used for towing a trailer, receiver hitches are the most popular. For trucks, you also have the option to use 5th wheel hitches, gooseneck hitches and pintle hitches. Each type of trailer hitch has a unique purpose, specific size, weight capacity, and coupling style.

  • Receiver hitches come in five (5) class ratings with capacities up to 20,000 lbs., providing a receiver tube for ball mounts and accessories, and they are available for most vehicles.
  • 5th wheel hitches have capacities up to 30,000 lbs. and use a 5th wheel kingpin coupler to mount. The 5th wheel hitch fits pickup trucks only.
  • Gooseneck hitches are similar in style to 5th wheel hitches, but have capacities up to 38,000 lbs. and use a gooseneck coupler to mount. The gooseneck hitch fits pickup trucks only.
  • Weight distribution receiver hitches have capacities up to 15,000 lbs. and require a receiver style hitch to help level your trailer load.
  • A pintle hitch utilizes a tow ring configuration to handle capacities up to 60,000 lbs. and is perfect for industrial vehicles.
