EGR began in 1973, producing point-of-purchase products and providing light plastic fabrication services. A family business, EGR was founded by brothers Greg and Rod Horwill, who today act as the company's Directors. Among EGR's first products were nested acrylic coffee tables, acrylic shoe stands for chain stores, and plastic framed mirrors. The plastic framed mirrors were such a success that the company even invested in its own mirror arising machinery, to process mirrors from blanks - the first step in a long history of vertical integration.
In 1983 EGR began production of automotive accessories, beginning with acrylic Head Light Covers for the iconic Ford XD Falcon. Acrylic weather-shields for a wide range of vehicles soon followed. Since then, EGR has gone from strength-to-strength with automotive products by continually investing in new machinery to expand the product offering. Today, Auto Accessories is now the largest division within EGR, producing thousands of products daily for markets around the world; in both OEM and Aftermarket. EGR offers Hood Guards, Super Guard Deflectors, Fender Flares, REDI-FIT Fender Flares, Body Side Molding, Rear Bumper Protectors, Sports Bars, S-Series Sports Bars, Roll Bars, Truck Cab Spoilers, In Channel Window Visors, Winglet Spoilers, and RollTrac Tonneau Bed Covers.
