ADDCO High Performance Anti-Sway Bars & Suspension Products

ADDCO Manufacturing Company, Inc. produces the world’s broadest line of automotive anti-sway bars and associated components. In addition to being the recognized leader in aftermarket suspension parts, we are a proven, high quality provider to the OEM market, offering the responsive and cost-effective service that only a lean, flexible, state-of-the-art manufacturer can provide.

ADDCO was started in 1961, utilizing American craftsmen to provide performance products that no one else was making at the time. Having won numerous SEMA design awards since, this tradition has continued for over 60 years.

Based in South Florida, Addco has introduced cutting edge CNC technology and advanced production management.  The machinery and methods that used to produce the bars may have changed, but the people making them are, at the core, the same. Accesspeed is proud to offer Addco products to our customers. With our low price match guarantee, you will always find the best combination of price and selection at Accesspeed.

THE PROBLEM

Let’s face it, most decisions made by the automakers are based on one factor – cost. Without a doubt, it’s less expensive to manufacture and install smaller anti-sway bars, or in some cases, leave them off completely. Stock suspension does an adequate job in most situations. However, where you may run into a problem (no pun intended) is when you need to make a sudden lane change to avoid an accident, or when you find that next curve in the road is a little sharper than you thought. As your vehicle begins to turn, the body will roll, transferring weight to the outside wheels. This causes the front end to push or plow, or what is technically known as understeer.  The result – your vehicle wants to keep going straight and you are out of control!

THE SOLUTION

Upgrade your vehicle with a set of ADDCO anti-sway bars, and you will immediately notice a huge improvement in body roll and understeer, resulting in a safer, more balanced suspension. Addco carries the world’s largest line of anti-sway bars to fit virtually any vehicle. Addco has been supplying suspension components for over 60 years, and is committed to making your vehicle the safest on the road.

HANDLING 101

What is Neutral Steer?

The front and rear of the vehicle will drift an equal amount and you will end up close to the starting point (actually, you will end up a little further out since the front and rear are drifting the same).

What is Understeer?

Front tire drift causes the vehicle to refuse to turn as sharply as the direction of the wheels are pointed. If the wheels and the throttle are held steady, the vehicle will make an ever-widening circle.

What is Oversteer?

Rear tire drift is greater than that of the front and the rear tends to “spin out”. The vehicle will end up closer to the center of the circle because the rear tire drift changes the direction inward.

What is Tire Drift?

The transfer of weight to the outside front wheel with an inadequate front or rear bar distorts the tires so they actually drift sideways during cornering.

Are bigger sway bars better?

Yes, bigger is always better! Even a small increase in bar diameter provides a major increase in anti-sway bar effectiveness. Play it safe and stick with ADDCO’s recommendations to achieve the level of handling you desire.
